| Not sure what they had at WVD, but I use this Phyto Protein powder: http://www.vitalgreens.com/ It's vegan. I've been using it for ages and it definitely reduces my muscle soreness after boxing training. |

I was so excited looking at all the stalls, I didn't notice any protein powders!!
There are actually a lot of vegan protein powders available in Australia now, not just the usual soy protein isolate which was all that was available not that long ago.
Where I work, which is in the sports nutrition/supplement field, we have a new vegan protein powder based on pea, brown rice and artichoke protein. It's called NitroFusion by ANS in case you want to look it up.
I can give more details if anyone wants to PM me, I don't think it's the place for me to give plugs here!!! |

Go right ahead. If it's vegan, plug it! |

!!!
I have been using it for a while now and am very happy with the results, in terms of recovery from weight training and cycling.
It's sold at A1 Sports Supplements on Sydney rd Brunswick.
Here are the ingredients for those interested.
It's vegan certified and has no artificial sweeteners which is a good thing.
NitroFusion Patent Pending Proprietary Blend Multi Source Protein (Brown Rice Protein Concentrate, Pea Protein Isolate, And Artichoke Protein), Fructose, Natural Flavors, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Gum Blend (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum), Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Silica, Stevia, And Bromelain. |

Thanks Joel,
will have to check it out.
I see that one of the stalls was called Vegan Strength, which might have been it but can't find any contact details. Anyone know them at all? |

I'm pretty sure you can contact them through ALV.
I think it is organised by Noah Hannibal from ALV, who is a very strong lifter from the youtube videos!
I would like to get involved myself. |

Just checked out some of their stuff, found the site at veganstrength.org
I'm nowhere near those numbers or strength, need to work at it for a while me thinks, will have to grab some Nitrofusion to help me out. Anyone know if Builder Bars are sold anyone here yet? |

I don't know about the Builder bars, I'll keep an eye out for them though.
Those guys do move some heavy weight!
It is motivating to see other vegans proving wrong the often thrown around comment that vegans are weak. |

Thanks for recommending NitroFusion Joel. It's probably the best vegan friendly protein I've tried. It actually dissolves, not too chalky, tastes good just mixed with water which is a nice change. Looking forward to trying the other flavors
Cheers! |

I agree with you, it is quite friendly on the palate.
From what I have read, they just wanted to create a protein that was very bioavailable and had an amino acid profile tailored to building muscle and it is a coincidence that plant sources are what constitutes it.
I am thinking that is why it isn't fortified with vitamins and such like other vegan friendly protein powders seem to be.
I've tried all the flavours, except tropical (I have a tub waiting at home) and think they are all quite easy to drink with water. |

Er... St Kelvin.. this is a vegan forum. We don't use whey protein. There are many effective vegan protein powders out there. |
