Hey guys,

I am in the process of becoming vegan.
I still eat fish on occasion but no other meats for the last 9+ years.
I also eat close to zero dairy.
I have 2 young children one who seems to have a reaction to milk. He definitely is allergic to walnuts and seem to be sensitive to other foods.
What I would like is to find a vegan or vegan friendly GP that will be supportive of my choices rather than to tell me I should give my kids milk!

Any advice would be greatly valued.

Regards,
would-veg Confused Smile

I'm in Forest Hill.
I had not mentioned it earlier as I did not want to limit the answers based on this.
Look forward to getting some answers...thanks for replying.

Very very incredible biased,
but my mother is a doctor (and mostly vegetarian), and raised me without milk because of allergies I had.
I'll talk to her about it tomorrow.

Dr John Green is vegan. He works at the Millennium Medical Centre in Footscray. I don't have the number offhand, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to google or find in the White Pages.

Tofu,

I heard Dr John Green was off to Rome to become a Catholic priest. I sh*t you not!

Dunno how true that is, but I heard it from someone who sees him as a patient regularly. Hope it's not, I really like the guy.

His details

Dr John Green
Millennium Medical Centre
Cnr Paisley & Albert Streets, Footscray VIC 3011, ph: 03 9687 8633
Dr Green is a vegan doctor who promotes whoefoods and fresh juices, with a strong emphasis on raw foods.

BTW, anyone who wants a veg friendly doctor might want to check out VNVs Veg Friendly Doc page. Also, if you find a doctor that's veg friendly and not on the list, drop them a line so they can add the doctor.

actually, that doesn't surprise me about Dr. Green, he's pretty committed to his spirituality. I liked that he was accepting of other paths as well. I knew he was going away but I never asked where!!
